VISION & MISSION

Our Vision:

A vibrant Christian church family offering our community hope and God's love.

Our Mission:

To serve our community by instilling love, hope and grace as we live in God's will as individuals and as a Christian church community.

All are welcome!

HISTORY

The planning or organizing the church began in the fall of 1994.

Through the generosity of some local churches, and organ, piano and hymnals were provided.  The first service was held on February 5, 1995 in Union Hall.  A house and 35 acres near Penhook was then donated with renovation being done by members.  The first service in our new church house was held on Christmas Eve of 1995.  A cemetery, open to the public, was also estabished.  Our "House On The Hill" served as our worship center until October 15, 2000 when we moved to our present sanctuary.

Our members represent multiple denominations; all are welcome.

The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there he will come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

Amen.

At Christ Community Church, we believe in the practice of open communion. This means that all who seek a relationship with Jesus Christ are welcome to participate in the Lord’s Supper. We see communion as a powerful and inclusive act of grace, where God's love and forgiveness are freely offered to everyone.

We hold that:

1.     Christ's Invitation: Jesus invited all to His table without restriction, and we strive to follow His example. Regardless of your background, denomination, or where you are on your faith journey, you are welcome here.

2.     Unity in Christ: Communion is a celebration of our unity in Christ. By sharing the bread and the cup, we remember Jesus' sacrifice and proclaim our common faith in Him. This act binds us together as one body, transcending our differences.

3.     Grace for All: We believe that God's grace is available to everyone. Open communion reflects our commitment to sharing that grace with all who wish to receive it, acknowledging that the Holy Spirit works in diverse and mysterious ways.

4.     Spiritual Nourishment: The Lord’s Supper is a means of spiritual nourishment and growth. By participating, we are strengthened in our faith and encouraged to live out Christ's teachings in our daily lives.

We invite you to join us in this sacred act, trusting that God's love knows no bounds and welcomes all who come with an open heart.

During the worship service on the first Sunday of each month.
