104 oz. (equaling 104 hours' stay at Ronald McDonald House) were donated.

135 (equaling 10 cents each) were donated to Glade Hill School lPTO.

OUR CHILDREN

9 million children in the United States are food insecure

In our community, Christ Community Church helps to provide weekend nutrition for the following schools:

Glade Hill Elementary – 34 children are fed each weekend during October, January, and April. Other local churches provide food for the remaining school months.

Ben Franklin Middle School – 50 children are fed each weekend during the school year.

ASSURING A

HOLIDAY MEAL

Families with children attending Glade Hill Elementary and Rocky Mt. Elementary who cannot enjoy a holiday meal due to their limited food budget receive a fully stocked box of food to prepare a traditional meal and assist with meals during the school holidays.

We are fortunate to have a dedicated family that plans, purchases, packs, and delivers the food boxes to the schools for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

HELPING CHILDREN MAINTAIN

DIGNITY AND COMFORT

For the second year, Franklin County Schools asked if CCC could provide children in need with new shoes. The School Counselors partnered with us to measure the children’s feet in October for delivery just in time for the holidays. We purchased 350 pairs of shoes averaging 25 pairs per school. The shoes help the children learn, thrive, and play each day at school.

CCC provides funds to Lake Christian Ministries and STEP to purchase 250 coats.

FEEDING OUR

COMMUNITY

Food insecurity is felt in every community. Moreover, people in southern rural communities are likely to lack access to enough food due to poverty, unemployment, and the cost of living.

Christ Community Church serves our community as a Mobile Food Pantry site on the 2nd Thursday of every month. In partnership with Lake Christian Ministries, a truck arrives at 8 a.m. Volunteers assemble grocery bags filled with produce, eggs, cheese, meat/chicken, potatoes, cereal, soups, and canned goods. Our church purchases hot dogs, paper products, cleaning supplies, and personal hygiene products to supplement food items. Recipients drive up and grocery bags are loaded in their vehicles. Personal gifts and extra shopping gift cards are provided during holidays. We currently are serving approximately 25 families.
